Microlise Awards 2026 - Rookie Of The Year
13th May 2026
TRUCKINGBY are pleased to announce that Fletcher Peart has been award Rookie of the Year at the Microlise Driver of the Year Awards 2026.
Fletcher has been driving HGV Class 1 vehicles since 21 May 2025, when he successfully passed his Class 1 test. Prior to this, he gained valuable operational experience driving company vans on a wide range of corporate and event-related assignments, developing a strong foundation in logistics, customer service, and professional driving standards.
Fletcher’s ambition to become a professional driver began at a young age. In 2011, his mother contacted the company after Fletcher developed a keen interest in Brian Yeardley Continental trucks and expressed a strong desire to pursue a career as an HGV driver. She enquired whether he could visit the depot to see the vehicles.
A depot visit was arranged, during which Fletcher and his mother were warmly welcomed. Fletcher went for a ride in one of the company’s Volvo trucks. From that moment, Fletcher remained in contact with the business and never lost sight of his goal.
In September 2024, Fletcher joined the company, initially working in the warehouse and yard as a yard operative and forklift driver. Determined to understand the business from the ground up, he embraced every opportunity to learn while continuing to work towards his long-term ambition of driving HGVs.
Demonstrating exceptional commitment, Fletcher used his own holiday time to accompany an experienced driver on a live music tour, gaining valuable first-hand insight into touring logistics. In recognition of his dedication, positive attitude, and potential, the company supported him through his Class 1 HGV training. He now drives a brand-new Mercedes Actros.
During this period, Fletcher continued to support operations by driving company vans, including work on the pantomime contract delivering costumes and set pieces. He quickly built an excellent reputation and became highly regarded by both clients and colleagues.
Personal Qualities and Professionalism
Despite being only 21 years old, Fletcher consistently demonstrates professionalism well beyond his years. He is:
- Sensible, polite, and highly respectful
- Receptive to feedback and eager to learn
- Calm, confident, and unfazed by challenging tasks
- Immaculately presented and meticulous in maintaining his vehicle
He takes genuine pride in his work and consistently represents both himself and the company to an exceptionally high standard.
